Local planning news @ Jan 2026
Laurel Park This application was refused by the Council’s planning committee on 18.11.2025. The application for a SEN school and up to 90 houses Ref 07/25/0222/F can be reviewed on the Council’s Planning Portal. Site is corner of Hammondstreet Road & Newgatestreet Road.
Woodside Primary School The redevelopment of this local school is expected to start in April 2026 and doubtless there will be some disruptions during this activity.
Sunset Studios In Goffs Oak Ward, this development would have added much to the community including key employment opportunities, but we have to wait now for a planning application from a newly interested organisation and react to the detail accordingly.
Gospel Hall Newgatestreet Road: 07/24/0623/F Retention of B8 open storage use for parking of luxury mobile homes and proposed office use of the former Gospel Hall for temporary period of three years. This application was refused by the Planning Committee on 16th December 2025. Subsequently there is an application to remove S106 conditions set in 1990, which we do not believe should be allowed. Following the refusal on 16th December operations at the site should cease and the Council should enforce such!
Land at the rear of 612 Goffs Lane: 07/23/0312/O
Outline application to enable the development of the site to provide six new zero carbon homes, a footway/cycle path and associated open space and landscaping. Currently being assessed. 20+ objections have been registered as the land is Green Belt & the development represents an unacceptable infill of land between the Asters and the approved INEX Development.
